Training history: A lot! She is the first dog I ever trained, right before I became a professional trainer. She currently has her AKC Companion Dog, Rally Excellent, and Trick Dog Performer titles. We did the CGC before she was registered with the AKC, but I never submitted the paperwork...
Your dog’s favorite trick/skill: Right now, I think reverse weaving! Her little stub is always wagging so hard.
YOUR favorite trick of your dog’s: Tight left turns in heel, when we pull it off.
Something you’re excited about in regards to Rally: I'm excited to get back in the ring in general, when the time comes.
Something you’re nervous about in regards to Rally: It's always a challenge to not rush her!
Anything else you want to share: Mars is perfect and always right.

Name: Ruth
Pronouns: She/Her
Location: Toronto
Dogs name: Waco (Way-co)
Dogs gender: Male
Dogs age: 3
Dogs breed: Hound Mix/Mutt (maybe coonhound and/or pointer)
Training history: We did puppy school, basic obedience and an intro to rally-o class with the same school in Toronto (Follow the Leader Inc run by Jon Fowles CPDT-KA). That got us started in Rally but Jon is more of an agility guy so now I'm branching out! Waco and I earned our novice title June 2020 with CARO (Canadian association of rally obedience)
Your dogs favourite trick/skill: It might be recall?? He comes back so fast! He also seems eager to play dead
YOUR favourite trick of your dogs: His wave is pretty cute. A crowd favourite with kids is 'karate'. It's barely a trick though haha, I just throw out my arm and yell 'karate!' and Waco jumps up to smack it.
Something you’re excited about in regards to Rally: I just find the whole sport so exciting, especially the way there seems to be no limit to how much you can tweak and improve any aspect of it. But I am really in love with how it has improved my communication with Waco.
Something you’re nervous about in regards to Rally: I have been noodling at it by myself for months now and feel like so much of our foundation work is so wibbly wobbly! ): Also I am having a lot of trouble with send out signs like 'send over jump'. Optimistic Coralyn can sort us out though!
Anything else you want to share: Waco is my first ever dog and he has changed my whole life in so many ways already. I hope making friends in this group will be the next way he does that!

Name: Taylor Wilkes
Pronouns: she/her, they/them
Location: Chicago IL
Dog’s name: Ghost
Dog’s gender: Female
Dog’s age: 1-2 yrs (?)
Dog’s breed: Your guess is good as mine!
Training history: I've been training since I was in high school, but primarily other people’s dogs. I had a couple of my own dogs; a Springer Spaniel (Tyson) I worked with in 4H Obedience and Rally, a Field Spaniel (Beckett) who was CGC & TDI certified, and co-owned another Field Spaniel (Cecil) who was an AKC Champion and I started in beginner obedience. My first job was at a Field Spaniel kennel and I worked several of the dogs there in Intro courses for Agility, Rally, and AKC Obedience, but then went to college and put dog training on the back burner. I’ve been training in Chicago for two years, but finally got my own dog in November 2019.
Your dog’s favorite trick/skill: FETCH. She really has it down to a skill, and I’ve never had a dog toss the toy back to me.
YOUR favorite trick of your dog’s: Sitting Pretty!
Something you’re excited about in regards to Rally: I’m excited to get some focus on training for my own dog! With our own goals! The freedom is almost overwhelming.
Something you’re nervous about in regards to Rally: The freedom is almost overwhelming!! I want to work on being patient with Ghost, and I’m nervous I’ll want to jump around/jump too far in an exercise too fast.
Anything else you’d like to share: Took the cat creeps into the videos sometimes…
Hello! I almost missed the introduction thread, sorry!

Anything else you want to share: we are looking forward to it! We’ve been practicing rally skills at home but just short heeling back and forth so I’m excited to follow your curriculum and get some help!
