Yeah, I feel like you're in a good place with everything! The wraps in your Student Spotlight video are perfect. Time to level up before I go camping on Thursday!?
Play with how you hold your hands in the "hands go away" part of the exercise. You make this work by speeding up your marking & rewarding for the last reps. But she might have an easier time not trying to follow where the hands went if you put them more at your side, or even behind your back.
Remember to say "get it" before you throw the treat, or else she'll definitely have a hard time ignoring your hands moving!
Excellent, she's targeting your front nicely. It just takes time for her butt to catch up with the turns, and the space is a little tight for this game because of that. The hand position you did before must have confused her, because she clearly has value in targeting the front of your body. Keep practicing this at least every now and then, but you can check it off your list.
Left finish looks good. I would just pause on that while we work on her sit in heel, because left finish tightly against a barrier is hard (impossible?).
Wrap:
She's doing a good job not moving forward, but her butt is still swinging out. So, the front half of her body is in the right spot, but not so much her booty. Getting there!
Right now, your hand is at your hip. That's actually drawing her out to swing: she was in the right spot, but swung out as she followed your hand. I actually want your hand almost on the left side of her head. Reference the Level's video examples for this - it's very similar to the mechanics of feeding stationary in heel.
You can also get closer to the couch again, too, just like for sits and down in heel.
Just so I have this somewhere... for this lesson-
Target: Check (but continue working on heel pivot)
Front with motion: Check (but practice!)
Heel with sit + Down: Check (but practice)
Tear drop finish: Check (and pause bc it could be confusing her) Wrap: Keep practicing with that barrier sit
Eye Contact: keep practicing but make it less hard on her.
Does this sound right? ONE THREAD NEXT TIME! :)
Yay! Good start!
