@Molly + Oona Beautiful! Revisit our conversation above about hand signals. In Level 7, you'll be combining straight line heeling and pivots. So, make a game plan about what you'll do with your hands for that.
Hand out the whole time for heeling? You can for Rally, buy you get less Fancy points from Coralyn.
Pivot without hand help?
Heel forward with neutral hand, but hand comes out as a cue for pivoting? (I think I have seen some people do this in Rally.)
Something about your foot work is making her sidestep with her front legs as well as pivot her rear, but she is still committing to heel position well. I don't want to mess with your footwork now because I don't want to ruin this nice work, and Level 7 has extensive foot work info for when you combine straight lines and pivoting. :-)
This is a great hand signal that you've worked out for pivoting. You could keep doing that forever for Rally, but I am curious to see you try without the hand as a cue. (Hand behind your back, probably, if that's what she sees on the target.) This will look more like her "offering" the pivots. Since that will be new, warm her up with offering pivots on the bowls first again (which is how you normally do pivots on the bowl).
I currently have no other justification for assigning you this besides the fact that I am training all of you to have way cleaner obedience than Rally actually requires, hehe. And the cleaner/more advanced version of left turns in heel is that she just follows your leg/body, no hand cue. :-)
hi we exist still!
Take2 with no hand signal. We have been practicing this for a few days.
Beautiful!
